V Enogastronomic Spring

The Ribera del Guadiana Wine Route is an experience for discovering, tasting and enjoying the vine-growing culture of Extremadura.
The well-known Extremadura route organizes the "Enogastronomic Spring" event each year. It fills the vine-growing areas of Extremadura with activities and opportunities to enjoy the wines, the gastronomy and all the attractions of the region. Enogastronomic Spring enables all types of people to become familiar with the fascinating world of wine. An endless number of activities and experiences to enjoy enotourism (wine tourism) with the five senses, all under the driving force of the excellent Extremadura wines, nature and the landscapes surrounding the towns and villages which make up the route and the wine culture.
Enogastronomic Spring enables the visitor not only to learn about the process of making wine, visiting cellars and enjoying the large number of activities related to this product, but also to discover the important historical and cultural heritage offered by those Badajoz municipalities which make up the Ribera del Guadiana Wine Route. Wine, gastronomy, culture, nature and leisure all join hands to enable you to discover the region in a different and exciting way.
Scenic beauty, heritage, traditions, but also the smells and tastes of the best Extremadura products from the pastureland, combined with the best wines the route has to offer.

San Isidro Festival 2017

The most remarkable cultural activity is: the great Float Parade (Cabalgata de Carrozas) which is carried out on the Saturday afternoon closest to 15th May, which is San Isidro saint’s day. You can also visit a peña of San Isidro (the organized groups that participate in the festival).

 

Horse Fair

Jerez celebrates the Horse Fair in May, from the 13th to the 20th of May 2017, offering the visitor the opportunity to enjoy the Wines of Jerez, the magic of flamenco and the spectacular Paseo de Caballos.

The Fair is an explosion of light and color, a waste of contrasts, joy and good atmosphere. The González Hontoria Park hosts the Horse Fair every year and becomes a unique place for seven days. The Horse Fair is declared of International Tourist Interest, an ephemeral city of casetas with a unique and unrepeatable atmosphere. The Horse Fair is declared of International Tourist Interest, an event that highlights the uniqueness of Jerez and its enormous tourist attraction.

Parallel equestrian activities, such as Natonal Acoso y Derribo Championship, Doma Vaquera, Driving Exhibition Competition and Morphological Competition take place in various parts of the city, while in the Royal grounds there is the Paseo de Caballos y Enganches, an attractive show and genuine, one of the most anticipated events of the year, which together with flamenco dancing, gastronomy and the Wine of Jerez complete one of the most important festive cycles of the year in Jerez.

Patios de Bodega

02/05/2017 al 31/05/2017 / In the Montilla - Moriles Wine Route

From 2nd to the 31st of may, the “Patios” of six wine cellars and wine presses of Montilla can be visited, decorated with natural elements and typical objects of our wine tradition. During the weekends, they will also offer special guided tours with Montilla Moriles wines tasting

 

The owners decorate their houses with great care to try and win the prestigious award offered by the authorities. A festival runs in parallel with a number of performances by the best singers and dancers on the scene, while the local fino wine from Montilla-Moriles flows freely and delicious tapas are served.
