ROUTE OF Penedès

Private Penedes Wine Tour. Day trip from Barcelona.

The Penedés region is only forty five minutes away from Barcelona but there is a dramatic contrast between them, from the big city to the rural area.

This region is well known in Spain because of its CAVA - Spanish name for sparkling wine. But there are also a lot of wineries that successfully elaborate both cava and still wines: red, white and rose. The landscape in Penedes is spectacular, sea and mountains, with small towns on top of the rolling hills, farms, beautiful vineyards and a great amount of bodegas - wineries.

On top of that, people are very kind and hospitable and food is fabulous. You can find the modern and innovative gastronomy that is giving Cataluña world recognition, side by side with traditional dishes. And of course, there are the wineries; some of them are real architectural jewels modernistic style.

This is the perfect relaxed one day excursion, where you will discover the Spanish bubbly, sparkling wine or cava, but also fabulous red and white wines. In this excursion you visit a couple of wineries before enjoying Catalan cuisine with a traditional lunch paired with Penedes wine. And after lunch you can go back to Barcelona or visit another winery.
