Going into it means walking through a land that preserves an important cultural, historical, architectural, artistic and ethnographic legacy. It also means approaching the region where born the generous wines of the D.O.P. Montilla-Moriles. Some wines that constitute a separate world within the universe of oenology and that have become the exclusive heritage of a framework that can’t be transferred to any other corner of Spain.

The landscape and life of this region has been largely determined by this plant and the production of wines that have made it famous inside and outside our borders. Vineyards and wineries are the places where wine lives. Places where it is worthwhile to stop and that have served as a starting point for the creation of a Route that, as its motto says, is much more than wine

The Wine

Joven, Fino, Amontillado, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez.


They are the five main classes of wines of the Denomination of Origin Montilla-Moriles, in which draws attention to the spectacular range of colors and tonalities that unfold.

Then, their unmistakable aromas, ranging from the freshness of the fruit to the most noble oak, leaving an unforgettable memory on the palate.

The wineries of the Montilla-Moriles Wine Route offer the possibility of enjoying a tailored tasting, both for connoisseurs and neophytes, for lovers or simply curious, while showing the peculiarities of the development of these wines where the undisputed star is the Pedro Ximénez grape variety and in which the biological aging (for the Fine) and the oxidative aging (for the Amontillados, Olorosos and Pedro Ximénez) take part following the system of criaderas and soleras.
